Getting a Library Card

Your U of R photo ID card is also your library card.

To get your U of R photo ID card, bring your confirmation of enrollment plus a photo driver's licence or two other pieces of identification to Room 210 - Registrar's Office in the Administration-Humanities Building.

New employees should bring their letter of offer.

If you are over 18 and not attending a post-secondary school, the following instructions will apply to you:

* Public Access Library Cards are free of charge. Cards expire yearly

Borrower Groups

Includes Adjunct Faculty and Emeriti.

Faculty can borrow max. of 500 items; Sessional can borrow max. of 100 items.

All loans are subject to recall if required by other patrons. Recalled items will be due 7 days from the date of recall. If an item is borrowed which already has previous requests on it, then the current borrower will get a 14 day loan period.

Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) students requiring borrowing privileges may purchase a public access card.

Max. 50 items can be borrowed; Reciprocal borrowers can borrow max. 25 items

Renewals

Items borrowed must be returned or renewed by the due date.

renewal loan period is the same as the original loan period.

Semester loans can be self-renewed for the semester term or until the expiry date listed in your patron information record (My Account) in Quick Find which can be viewed if you log in with your U of Regina user id and password.

Items may be renewed up to 5 times. Recalled items, reserve materials and other short-term loans are not available for renewal.

If the system does not allow you to renew an item, contact Circulation Services for assistance.

Recalls

All loans are subject to recall if required by other patrons. Recalled items will be due 14 days from the date of recall.

You will be notified when the item is ready for pickup. It will be held for 1 week only.

All recalled items will be available for pickup at the Archer Library.

Basement Storage Information

The Basement Storage area of the Dr. John Archer Library is not open to library clients.

Requests for materials stored here, may be placed in person by filling out a Basement Storage request form available at the Library Help Desk of the Dr. John Archer Library.

All items requested by 3:45 p.m. if available, will be retrieved by Circulation Services staff and will be available for pickup at the Dr. John Archer Library Library Help Desk by 4:30 p.m. the same day. Requests received after 3:45 p.m. will be available with the next day's requests.

Items will be returned to the Basement Storage locations after remaining unclaimed on the shelf for 1 week, or after they have been viewed.
