Collaborations with External Organizations

Successful Collaboration: Regina Public Library

The Dr. John Archer Library & Archives' (Library) first featured collaboration to be showcased is with Regina Public Library (RPL).  In Spring 2023, the Library and RPL participated in a one-year pilot to have a holds pickup and drop off location at the University. A featured story about the pilot was published by University Advancement and Communications in May 2023 and can be viewed at https://www.uregina.ca/stories/2023/05/check-it-out.html. Some testimonials from members of the public and members of the University of Regina community during the pilot are listed below.

  • Fantastic service, please keep it up!
  • I work at the university and I greatly appreciate the pick-up and drop off of RPL books.
  • Thank you for offering this service!
  • This is a fantastic option for borrowing books. The convenience is much appreciated
  • Very convenient as I often come to study at the Archer library and now, I can pick up or return my books while I'm there instead of taking the extra time to drive to a RPL library branch! Thank you

The pilot was beneficial for both libraries by broadening their partnership and expanding connections with communities.  The holds pickup and drop-off service is now a regular service between RPL and the Library and details are on the RPL site at https://www.reginalibrary.ca/using-the-library/borrowing/service-points. People can search the RPL online catalog on Archer Library's website at https://library.uregina.ca/borrowing/RPLholds or from our homepage at https://library.uregina.ca.
