The Dr. John Archer Library & Archives (Library) has built relationships with many units, departments, and faculties within the University Community and beyond since the Library building's opening in 1967. The Library has partnered on a variety of projects and programs and this page showcases these collaborations. Past and ongoing collaborations will be added to this site on a regular basis. For further information, please contact Michael Shires, Community Engagement and Communications Librarian at Michael.Shires@uregina.ca.
The Dr. John Archer Library & Archives' (Library) first featured collaboration to be showcased is with Regina Public Library (RPL). In Spring 2023, the Library and RPL participated in a one-year pilot to have a holds pickup and drop off location at the University. A featured story about the pilot was published by University Advancement and Communications in May 2023 and can be viewed at https://www.uregina.ca/stories/2023/05/check-it-out.html. Some testimonials from members of the public and members of the University of Regina community during the pilot are listed below.
The pilot was beneficial for both libraries by broadening their partnership and expanding connections with communities. The holds pickup and drop-off service is now a regular service between RPL and the Library and details are on the RPL site at https://www.reginalibrary.ca/using-the-library/borrowing/service-points. People can search the RPL online catalog on Archer Library's website at https://library.uregina.ca/borrowing/RPLholds or from our homepage at https://library.uregina.ca.
