Search/Find Function on Library Homepage

Finding DVDs/Videos in the Library's Catalogue

Go to the Library homepage: http://www.uregina.ca/library

  • Click Search/Find in the left-hand menu

  • Click Quick Find in the left-hand menu

  • Click Advanced Search button

  • We're going to look for DVDs or videos on homophobia or homosexuality or heterosexuality
  • First search line
  • Leave the box: Any field
  • Leave the next box as: contains
  • Type: homophob? OR homosex? OR heterosex?

  • The ? is the symbol for truncation in the catalogue, and finds anything starting with the roots before it. This keeps us from having to type all sorts of variations of a term.

  • Change Resource Type to Audio Visual
  • Click Search

  • To show the most recent titles first, in the left column change Sort By to "Date Newest" 

  • To see the full record for a title, including its subject headings, click the title

  • Save the records of books that you think you might use by clicking on the envelope icon or the pin icon.
  • The DVDs and videos are shelved together with the books on the third and fourth floors of the Archer Library
