ECS 300: RefWorks

RefWorks Tutorial

RefWorks has a YouTube tutorial channel with beginning to advanced tutorials, including such things as how to append the full text of an article to its citation

RefWorks Citation Manager

  • RefWorks is a Web-based bibliographic software that allows you to make folders of citations for all the articles and other documents you use for any assignment
  • Will do the bibliography or end notes of a paper automatically, in the format of your choice
  • Many of the Library's databases will allow you to download records directly into your RefWorks account, and so will Google Scholar
  • Free to all U of R students, even after graduation, as long as the Library subscribes to it
  • Go to the library’s homepage: https://library.uregina.ca
  • In the first row of icons under the search box, click the double arrows, then click the RefWorks icon:
  • Under New to RefWorks? click Sign Up for a New Account
  • Fill in the information requested, which includes your name, a login name (RefWorks will tell you if it’s already in use), a password, and your favourite email address. It should be the email address you use the most, as you'll be sending yourself email from RefWorks
  • You then have to enter your real name, select the type of user you are, such as Undergraduate, and your focus area, which are all very broad. Choose the closest one to your major
  • Click Create Account
