Best Practices for Auditory Accessibility
Captioning
Edit your captioning text file. At best, auto-generated captions are 85% accurate and struggle with subject-specific terminology.
Closed captions are preferred to open captions as they are less distracting.
Ensure captions are synced with the audio and visuals, so captions do not appear too early or too late.
Include a link to a text-only transcript.
Any action performed on-screen should have an auditory and/or textual counterpart.
Narration should not overlap with musical accompaniment or ambient noise.
