Congratulations to the Summer Movie Contest Winners!

The Summer Movie Contest happened from August 1 until August 26, 2025. We received 69 entries! Thank you to the 49 undergraduate students and 17 graduate students for their participation!

• Jayden Penny - How to Train Your Dragon (It is one of the few movies I had on dvd in my childhood. It reminds me of being a kid when dragons and fantasy were magical and mysterious.)

Chloey Foster - Call Me By Your Name (It has such a warm summer aesthetic with beautiful scenery in Italy, the love story is beautiful and incredibly performed. The story, cinematography, acting, music, just everything about this film is amazing I love it so much.)

Raya Erickson - Despicable Me (They are light movies that I can watch with my nieces and nephews.)

Mahiben Goswami - The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (It's lighthearted yet inspiring, full of travel, adventure, and breathtaking landscapes.)

Contest Rules:

1. Participants must be currently registered students at the University of Regina or federated colleges
2. Entries must be submitted by the deadline
3. Participants may submit multiple different entries, but can only win one prize.
4. Dr. John Archer Library & Archives will notify the winners via email on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 by 12:00 p.m. (noon). We will contact the winners using the information provided by an eligible participant on the entry form.  If a winner does not reply to the email by Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. (noon), the Dr. John Archer Library & Archives shall have the right, but not the obligation, to select an alternative winner.
5. By submitting you give permission to the Dr. John Archer Library & Archives to reproduce and use your submission (using your name and department/faculty), either wholly or in part, in any medium (including but not limited to publications and on the internet) for promotional purposes.
