Library Seasonal Contests

The "Blind Date with a Book/E-Book" contest happened from February 5 until February 26, 2025. A total of 118 "Blind Date" books were borrowed and 45 people signed up to receive a "Blind Date with an E-Book".  

We received 5 entries from the "Blind Date" E-Book participants and 44 entries from participants that borrowed a "Blind Date" book from the Archer Library. Thank you to the 39 undergraduate students, 6 graduate students, 1 staff and 1 faculty member for entering their name for the random draw! 

The lucky winners of one of the 12 books donated by the University of Regina Press Books are: Nazib Rifat, Arshad Ali, Mahiben Goswami, Akshar Patel, Jay Patel, Lukas Opitz, Harsh Pandya, Mahbuba Rahman, Carla McCrie, Myah Thomas, Jacqueline Hale, and Alexandra Hodson.

The physical books list include the title. author name, genre, and call number.

The E-Book list gives you the opportunity to go on a "Blind Date" with an E-Book!

PRIZES AND CONTEST RULES
The University of Regina Press donated three copies of the following four titles:

• "Angry Queer Somali Boy: a complicated memoir" by Mohamed Abdulkarim Ali
• "#BlackInSchool" by Habiba Cooper Diallo
• "Black Writers Matter" edited by Whitney French
• "Until We are Free", edited by Rodney Diverlus, Sandy Hudson and Syrus Marcus Ware.

The "Blind Date with a Book" contest is open to all U of R students, staff and faculty aims to pair you with your perfect "Blind Date" book.

Contest Rules:

1. Participants must be a U of R or federated colleges Registered Students, Staff or Faculty.  Library Goodie Bags are only available to Registered Students.
2. Entries must be submitted by the deadline
3. Participants may submit multiple different entries, but can only win one prize
4. By submitting you give permission to the Dr. John Archer Library & Archives to reproduce and use your submission (using your name and department/faculty), either wholly or in part, in any medium (including but not limited to publications and on the internet) for promotional purposes.
