Assignment Preparation

Identify the times available for working on your major assignments and essays in your new schedule.

If there are no gaps remaining for these it might help to limit the time associated with some of your activities, or possibly withdraw from one or two altogether. Overcommitting can lead to stress and burn-out.

Some students are able to work at a steady pace throughout the term, but many find that they work to deadlines. If you work in this manner, then flexibility in a schedule will be helpful. In this case, identify the parts of your schedule can be changed in times of high demand. It is important to not to change or remove time for relaxation, socialization, and hobbies too often. Balance is important for health and success in the long term.

  1. Block off a bit of time each week for working on essays no matter when they
are due. Identify times during the week where more hours could be added,
if needed, as the deadlines approach.
  2. Review a sample of the schedule below.
