A short guide to making citations for your essays and papers.

Introduction

The purpose of much of the library guide is to give advice on citing sources.  Style guides however provide much more direction than just in this one area.  The use of abbreviations, of direct and indirect quotations, of the passive voice and of statistical data are just a small number of the topics covered by style guides.  Below is a short list of style guides available at the Archer library.  Using these can assist you with writing clearer and more elegant arguments which in turn will make your argumentation more persuasive and your reader more interested in what you have to say (oh, any also possibily it will make it possible for you to obtain higher grades!).
