PLEASE NOTE GoodLife Fitness is a private company: it is not currently publicly traded on a stock market. This means that some financial and other information may not be available, and you cannot search company databases using a ticker symbol. However, there is high-quality information available in Nexis Uni, IBISWorld, and ABI/Inform (among others).

Please review all videos on the "Videos and Documents" tab. The videos will introduce you to all the resources you need to complete the assignment. There is also a "Example Assignment" document that gives an example of how to complete the assignment (this example paper would likely get a C or lower -- if you are hoping for a better mark, make sure you really understand how the information in the assignment would fit in to an environmental scan).
You will need to fill out the "Blank Assignment" sheet for your assignment, which is also on the "Videos and Documents" tab. The assignment is done individually, and must be submitted according to your professor's instructions.

In-Class Assignment
The in-class assignment, "Finding and Using Business Information," will be done on a specific day for your class. Please consult your syllabus and/or UR Courses page, or contact your instructor, if you are unsure what day your assignment will be on.
What do I do if I will be absent? / What do I do if I miss that day?
You should treat this assignment like an in-class midterm. If you miss the date of the assignment without a valid and unforeseeable reason, you may not be allowed to make it up. Contact your instructor if you missed the assignment and want to try to make it up.
