Quick Find is the most comprehensive way to search for library material (including books and journal articles) at the U of R. To access Quick Find, go to the library homepage and select the Quick Find tab, or click Advanced Search below the search box. This search engine will allow you to search for items by title, author, subject, keyword(s) and more.
The U of R Library home page is where you will access both the Quick Find tab and the Databases tab.
You can get to this page by clicking on the Students heading across the top of the U of R website and then scrolling down to Archer Library and Archives under Academic Services and Resources. There is also a link to it on the Luther Library home page.

Argumentative essays are a specific type of writing in which you choose a topic (sometimes a controversial one), research it extensively, and then use the evidence gathered in your research process to establish your own opinion and persuade your reader to share that opinion.
A successful argumentative essay will include:
1. a clear, concise and defined thesis statement
2. social and factual context
3. your argument(s), supported by evidence
4. counter arguments
5. conclusion
6. bibliography
