Saskatchewan is both a young province (1905) and, with a population just over a million, not a large province either. Yet in spite of this there are considerable resources for the political and historical researcher to use when studying and writing about this province. Furthermore there is no dearth of fascinating personalities that have been important for bringing Saskatchewan to where it is today. This includes men in the province's early period like Frederick Haultain, T. Walter Scott and Jimmy Gardiner or more recent personalities such as Grant Devine and Roy Romanow. And of course there is Tommy Douglas, probably the only Saskatchewan political figure to loom large on both the provincial and national scenes.
This guide has been designed to get you started on research by pointing you toward the most commonly used resources -- both primary and secondary -- that will allow you to get the information that you need to answer the questions that you pose.
