Artificial Intelligence

AI is integrated into more and more of our lives, how can you use it safely at school?

AI Literacy

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of our daily lives, often in ways we may not even realize. From the personalized recommendations we receive on streaming platforms to the voice-activated virtual assistants that help us manage our schedules, AI is everywhere. It's in our smartphones, our cars, our workplaces, and even our homes. It's shaping industries, driving innovation, and transforming the way we interact with the world.

Generative AI

Generative AI (GenAI) is subset of deep learning artificial intelligence models that generates content in response to prompts submitted by a user. The content created can be in the form of text, images (including photographs, digital paintings and cartoons), videos, music and software code.

GenAI systems are trained on large amounts of data and it generates content based on a statistical analysis of the distribution of words, pixels or other elements of the information it processes, identifying patterns and the statistical estimate of what words or images should be included in the output.

GenAI presents us with a number of opportunities, but also comes with its own limitations that are important to consider and understand.
