Two versions of this month’s book club exist. The book in its original published format was censored for its Victorian readers. An uncensored manuscript has recently been discovered and published for modern readers. I have included selections of both in the Further Reading and Materials tab. Please feel free to read which version of the text you’d prefer or have available to you. Our discussion will not be dependent on either version.
This book contains themes and discussions which present day readers may find offensive. Please be mindful of the historical and social context surrounding the characters and circumstances when reading The Picture of Dorian Gray.
